Valentine’s Day! The Pixie Dusted Day has finally arrived! We were up early for a delicious breakfast of an egg scramble burrito (with chives from that wonderful grocery store) prepared by Glenn & Judy. Since the wedding was not until 3:30, we decided to view some of the local sites. The Santa Monica mountains are within a stone's throw of our lodging, so in a couple of minutes we drove past the famous Forest Lawn Cemetery, where people such as Jimmy Stuart, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson and so forth are buried, and up Mulholland Drive which winds its way through the very densely populated hillsides. We passed many gated, elaborate homes, no doubt with price tags in the multiple millions. Along the top there were several spots that overlooked the cities of Burbank and Hollywood.

Hogwarts at Universal Studios!
From Burbank to Hollywood looking east to the San Gabriel Mountains.
After several stops for photos we drove back down and headed towards another place we wanted to see. That took us along a maze of mountain roads, also densely populated, the roads so narrow that cars could not pass one another without one stopping. Sometimes the driveways were no more than 4’ long! We wound our way higher and higher we finally came to The Spot:

After lunch it was time to prepare for The Wedding. The Little Brown Church in the Valley is in the very dense Studio City. Parking was a challenge, but we managed. How those who arrived later found a place is beyond me. The families gathered inside and outside for the very intimate wedding. We got to see cousins we had not seen for ages, and finally meet their spouses! We signed the guest book and found our preprepared name tags. Uncle Bob seemed quite serene while everyone else was bubbling!

Once everyone was seated and phones were silenced in came the pastor and the groom. Margaret was escorted down the aisle by her son, and the wedding began.

Introductions, story-telling and the solo ‘Unforgettable’ were a delight. The pastor joked about Robert & Margaret stealing kisses early! They did have 70 years of catching up to do.

We all joined in singing ‘Great is Our Faithfulness.’ Then vows, a ring and a kiss - Wed!

The wedding dinner was held at Miceli’s in Universal City. We crowded into the delightful Italian restaurant, cosying up with our new family. The waiters and even a cousin sang operatic arias for us. Patrice, in her Tinker Bell outfit, gave out bags of Valentine’s sweets including Margaret’s favourite chocolate and peanut butter! It was loud and wonderful!

A Fairytale come true!

A note about name tags: Margaret kept mentioning that the next time she saw you she would not recognise you. It seems she has Prosopagnosia otherwise known as Face Blindness. She cannot recognise people's faces. One in 50 people suffer from this condition including Jane Goodall, Stephen Fry and Brad Pitt. Margaret must have spent hours making the special name tags for each of the family. You see that even the Groom has his!
